![]() The Fiber Arts Festival is a 3-day celebration that shows that art is, not only, beautiful, but functional! This is a family friendly festival that is open to the public. The festival opens Friday, January 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. with the exhibitor and demostration rooms. A wine and cheese reception will be held at 6 p.m. for the community prior to a presentation by Linda Weghorst on African Kente Cloth. Vendors will be demonstrating spinning of wool and cotton on drop spindles and spinning wheels, weaving, felt making, and rug hooking. Workshops will include: Kids, make and take art- (free) -God's eye, finger knitting, and yarn bombing Kids classes: Pot holder loom with loops and pot holder loom with yarn wrap Older children through adult workshops: -Kumihimo braiding, felting (2 sessions), flower loom, knitted short row scarf Adult workshops: -pin weaving (featured workshop) -triangle loom weaving |
